Google Eloquent — dictation turns into finished text
Google AI Edge shows Eloquent — an app that turns speech into professional text, works offline thanks to Gemma and needs no subscription.
Talking to your phone? Eloquent turns it into finished, professional text.
Eloquent is an app built as part of the Google AI Edge initiative.
It is meant to make writing text by dictation (speech-to-text) fast and convenient, to work offline (Gemma), to have no limits and to run without a subscription.
Eloquent looks like a good option for people who love voice messages. The text autocorrection is interesting — it makes the final text look consistent and ready to use.
Possible uses for Eloquent: quick transcription of audio recordings, working with email, notes, help with sorting out your thoughts.
I use Wispr Flow myself from time to time (it works in the cloud) and I have to admit that this option works for me when I quickly need to move my thoughts to a computer or a phone.
I wonder whether Google will manage to move AI onto the edge device (edge computing)?
Unfortunately Eloquent is not available for testing in Poland right now. We’re waiting.
