I found Niagara Launcher by accident while browsing Twitter. One user of that chirping site recommended it, saying the app changed the way he used his smartphone. I decided to give it a try, because I am one of those people who have a lot of apps on their phone and start to get lost in all of it.

What is Niagara Launcher?

It is a minimalist home screen that handles the app list in a great way. The app shows which programs you use most often and suggests which ones you should always keep at hand. Of course you can set your own list of favourites.

Niagara Launcher lets you pick a given app quickly with one hand. Just slide your finger along the “alphabet” and a smooth “wave” animation appears. Pick the app and you are done.

This home screen is not only a simple and fast way to choose an app. It gives you much more. Clear notifications, calendar events and a music player are things I need to have with me all the time. Niagara Launcher lets you change fonts, icons and wallpapers, and add widgets. On top of that you can hide all the preinstalled apps you do not need.

There is a lot more it can do. Especially in the Pro version, which I am testing right now. See for yourself in the video below what this screen can do.

I downloaded Niagara Launcher from: Google Play.

Do you look at technology the same way?

I run technology products and write here about how that turns out. Take a look at the tools I use day to day.
